Fishing

flyThe season begins April 1 where open water is available. Trolling with flies for brook trout, landlocked salmon and occasional rainbow, lake trout (togue) on ponds and rivers is in order. Catch and release is the norm but we do keep a fish or two for supper up in the north woods.

Serious fly fishing begins late May including June and early July. Excellent large and small mouth bass as well as chain pickerel fishing is available in Central Maine rivers and ponds.

Fly tying lessons and/or casting lessons are available.

Out of state licenses are available here.
